History of the system partnership between BETEK and Wirtgen

1981: Experience in spikes manufacturing allows the BETEK company to emerge from the SIMON corporate group on 06 February 1981. The focus is on cutting tools made from tungsten carbide for road milling, mining and tunneling

1982: One of BETEK's first customers is Wirtgen. The first products ordered are bits for road milling machines

1983: The next step is the development of bits for Surface Mining

1990: First quick-change toolholder system called HT2 is developed and produced together by Wirtgen and BETEK

1991: Sales figures top 1 million tools for the first time

1994: The quick-change toolholder system HT3 replaces HT2

1995: The cooperation agreement between Wirtgen and BETEK is created on 30 April 1995

1997: Start of tool sales in the USA - the largest market in the world

1998: Sales figures top 5 million tools for the first time

1998: Development of the W6R: Wirtgen's standard tool for many years

2001: Development of a new tool system with a long sleeve and large wear plate

2001: The HT3plus is presented as a new advancement

2001: Sales figures top 10 million tools for the first time

2004: Three years later, sales figures top 15 million tools

2005: Successful introduction of the toolholder system HT11

2006: Presentation of the new R-Series with Twin-Stop-System

2006: Presentation of the new cutting system for surface miners with a 42-mm shaft system

2009: Introduction of the HLL- and XR-Generation

2011: BETEK celebrates its 30th anniversary and Wirtgen its 50th

2013: Presentation of the new tool series called Generation X and the new quick-change toolholder system HT22
